When it concluded on Friday, July 19 after 43 days, brand influencer Gifty Eyram Holyfa alias Eyram GH shrugged off keen challenge from her closest rival Ada Atayobor to be crowned winner of the $22,500 (GHc120,393.83) Renault Duster SUV presented by Premium Motors.
At the Accra Mall Food Court after braving menstrual cramps and having to attend to nature’s call and shower using 12 minutes during their 15 minute break, Eyram after emerging winner with 171,180 votes as against Ada’s 169,851 (collated from the e.TV, Happy FM and YFM websites as well as related social media pages) confessed the going got tough along the way but she is grateful to have dug deep to hold on, avoid eviction and eventually win.
The 2019 edition of the ‘Live Inside and Win the Ride’ reality show (LIWTR) got launched on April 3, 2019 by organisers Global Media Alliance (GMA) Group who are also owners and operators of YFM, Happy FM and e. TV Ghana with the reality show commencing on June 7.
The show brought together five individuals from different backgrounds across the country to endure sitting together in the Renault Duster SUV enduring evictions till one person emerged winner.
The contestants were put to the test checking out their tolerance level, time consciousness and strategic vision.
13 candidates were sieved from the masses after picking up registration forms costing GHc50 and undergoing auditions in Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi as well as undergoing a medical screening. This year’s participants spanned Osei Boateng, Baffour Gyan Isaac, Nyalemegbe Raymond, Godfred Awaliga, Gifty Eyram Holyfa, Comfort Dogbe, Ada Atayobor, Jason Kwadwo Sankoh, Samuel Kofi Asare, Richmond Kofi Asare, Zara Sulley, Selorm Dotse Kudiabor and Dennis Ananoore.
Chief Executive at Global Media Alliance, Mr. Ernest Boateng who declared the winner informed those in session, voting concluded at noon on Friday, the declaration day praising both Eyram and Ada for staying on despite the inconveniences and curtailment of liberties observing the ladies seem to have staying power as Sarah Ayim, a model emerged winner of the first edition.
He stated GMA was always looking to bring innovative entertainment to the Ghanaian public and have been delighted with the feedback from the public and sponsors.
“I would continue with my brand influencing work and execute projects I hold dear. I thank my family for all their prayers and support especially my mother who always believed,” Eyram GH told newsmen after the win.
Eyram does not know how to operate a vehicle but that is nothing that a driving school cannot handle so we are sure the social media girl would have a blast especially when sponsor Le Banzini Restaurant is supplying her pizza on their terrific Tuesdays for 6 straight months.
Ada, the professional make-up artist submitted “I had back pains and had to tolerate a lot as people got on my nerves. I was quick tempered but learnt to contain my anger during the competition. Eyram taught me some songs as she has a really god voice. I learned a lot from ‘Demographics’ too as he proved to be a determined fellow.” Ada curiously had just birthed and entered the ride when the baby turned 9 months showing sheer will power and for her woes, she gets to enjoy 3 months supply from the Le Banzini Restaurant as well. The Le Banzini representative was delighted noting that by associating with the LIWTR, they saw increased patronage of their meals and visits to their restaurant.
Another sponsor Premium Motors (Distributors of Renault in Ghana), had their representative Sonya Gustreet Kaus in session. She explained the company associated itself to the competition because it believed in in its uniqueness adding Renault vehicles are crated with passion hence the slogan “Passion for Life”.
