In its effort to support government’s quest in transforming education in the country, the Board and Management of Upper Manya Kro Rural Bank has presented 100 pieces of double student beds to Klo Agogo Senior High School in the Eastern Region.
The school, which has a student population of over 700, is bedeviled with infrastructure and social amenities, a development that caught the attention of the bank. The donation forms part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility, in communities where they operate.
Presenting the beds to the school, the Board Chairman of the bank Mr James Otieku said, ‘his outfit is always ready to support the school in their own small way as a financial institution’.
According to him, when his outfit received a request from the school to help them with 200 beds, they readily obliged since education is the backbone of the future of our youth. He said, “Upper Manya Rural bank was particularly worried about the sleeping places of the girl students, hence the support to the school. It was quite a tough challenge, but we thought it was the little help we can also offer to support education in this community.” He added that, as a rural bank, their primary objective was to alleviate deprived institutions like the Klo-Agogo Snr. High School.
He further reiterated that, “the Bank was interested in affecting the communities in which they operate and so looking at our finances we thought we could afford 100 pieces of double beds that can take care of 200 students. He therefore encouraged the school authorities to continuously work hard and also pray for the success of the Bank to chalk more laurels, to enable them give more to the society at large.
Emphasizing that, ‘education is the foundation of every Society’…so in investing into the future of the youth was paramount. He challenged the students to be disciplined and work harder, since the two are bed fellows for success. Stressing that, they all need to study well and pass their examination to enable them attain higher heights into the university. By which they would have added value to their parents investment and also be a responsible citizens to the country.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the headmaster of the school, Mr John Mensah Dzokoto, commended the Board and Management of Upper Manya Kro Rural Bank Limited, for their thoughtfulness and investing into the school’s infrastructure and urged the Bank that, the items will be put to good use.
