The 16th International Building Construction and Property Exhibition has witnessed an upsurge in foreign participation, as 10 new companies from Austria have successfully participated in this year’s event.
Speaking to the Goldstreet Business at the exhibition in Accra last Thursday, Executive Chairman of Image Consortium Group, Erick Bertin Houadjeto said, “while we are retaining our old exhibitors and participants, we are always attracting a new set of participants who haven’t had the IBE experience,” adding, “this year we can boast of 10 construction companies from Austria under the ‘Advantage Austria’.”
This is based on a new partnership with ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, Austria’s official trade promotion organization for the promotion of Austrian companies in the building and construction industry.
Turkish Companies
He also noted that through the exhibitions, two Turkish companies have set up shops in the country with the intention of manufacturing some of the components in the country.
In less than one year, a Turkish company in the electrical sector which participated in last year’s exhibition have fully been established, with over 3,000 square meters of showroom, warehouse and offices spaces.
Another Turkish company will soon be assembling CCTV monitoring systems and alarms in the country.
Houadjeto added that an important component of the exhibition is the Business to Business (B2B) session, where local businesses are linked up with these exhibitors.
“We’ve have sent out more than 2000 invites to small businesses in the country to come and look at the various components on display by the various companies’ exhibitors.”
