Ghana Union Assurance Life Company Limited (GUA LIFE), a leading life underwriter has donated items to the Children’s Ward of the Police Hospital in Accra. The gesture formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), which is hinged on the virtue of giving.
A release by the company quoted its Operations Manager, Mr Owusu Yaw Osei- Bobie saying the company’s core values imbibed the virtue of giving and it therefore remained committed to supporting institutions such as the Ghana Police Service and other entities which serve as its clientele base.
“Due to the fact that we serve the general public, it is important that as an institution we also give back to society. When we got the request, we decided to put it in our CSR plan and make a donation to them,” he said.
The gesture, he explained, would further boost confidence in the company and the sector at large explaining “the sector is going through a lot of challenge but little gestures such as this will go a long way to boost and maintain confidence.”
He added that the company would also earmark some institutions getting to the end of the festive period to benefit from its CSR initiatives.
Mr. Osei Bobie added that the company was rolling out new products for the Ghanaian populace to ensure that people managed their risk effectively when it comes to life insurance.
“Insurance is very critical when it comes to financial planning. As a company we are putting together solutions to meet this need,” he said.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Police Hospital, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Mr Victor Adusah- Poku, expressed gratitude to the company reiterating that the items would be put to good use at the facility.
