Ahead of the March 20, which is the World Oral Health Day set to be marked at the Independence Square before noon in Ghana, Unilever Ghana Limited has visited the Star Basic School in Community 5, Tema today to orient the pupils about the need to maintain proper oral care.
Taking the pupils through a recital, handlers demonstrated how the front teeth had to be cleaned keeping the brush in a circular motion before using the top-down approach reach the inner teeth, gum and tongue.
Given that they were young and might need parental care, parents have been urged to assist their wards to brush in the day and before bedtime.
Some pupils got rewarded with mathematical sets while others got pepsodent branded tooth brushes rounding up the day.
World Oral Health Day is observed annually on 20 March, and launches a year-long campaign dedicated to raising global awareness of the issues around oral health and the importance of oral hygiene so that governments, health associations and the general public can work together to achieve healthier mouths and happier lives.
World Oral Health Day involving campaigns by national dental associations from around the world with activities in over 130 countries is organized by FDI World Dental Federation in hopes of cutting down on oral diseases.
