MASLOC trains staff ahead of introducing new digital platform

The Micro-Finance and Small Loans Centre(MASLOC) has held a workshop to train staff on the usage of a new Integrated Software Platform (ISP) towards transforming the Centre into a full digital enterprise.

A statement signed and copied to the media by Mr Frederick Ohene Offei-Addo, the Public Relations Manager of MASLOC, said the new software comes with enhanced capabilities to assist the Centre on delivering its mandate and to meet the demands of the technological developments.

The statement said the workshop which covered the core banking system of the ISP was delivered over a four-day period under the auspices of Eban Capital Limited, a Ghanaian based fintech.

It said sessions of the workshop were dedicated to an overview and navigation of the core banking applications, loan management, customer accounts management and teller and payment services.

It said the ISP, which was a key feature of the strategic development plan of MASLOC for the past 18 months, was secured through an agreement with Eban Capital Limited, after a rigorous selection process under the aegis of the Public Procurement Authority and in line with the Public Procurement Law.

The ISP is expected to seamlessly integrate all the operations of MASLOC across its 216 newly established District Centres, 16 regional offices and Head Office.

The statement noted that the seamless integration was expected to bring efficiency into MASLOC’s operations including the much-desired improvement in loan disbursement and repayment.

“MASLOC customers and clients will be issued with biometric cards interfaced with biometric Point-of-Sale devices, all linked to the platform,” it added.

The statement said internal processes and operations of MASLOC’s departments would all be integrated onto the ISP.

It said the 52 participants of the workshop consisted of Regional and District Managers and head office staff including management.

Mr Jim Amegah, the Chief Executive Officer of Eban Capital said “we found a great opportunity for partnership in MASLOC’s desire to integrate their entire operations.
