Vice, Registrar-General looking forward to Insolvency Bill and Companies’ Bill passage

The Registrar-General’s Department wants passage of the Companies’ Bill as its head Mrs. Jemima Oware believes the act will help in the fight against corruption.

Madam Oware sees to the Registration of Businesses, Official Liquidations of Companies, Registration of Industrial Property Rights, Marriages and Administration of Estates.

Government meanwhile is working towards the passage of the Insolvency Bill and the Companies’ Bill into law by Parliament.

Hopes are high the corporate insolvency bill will be passed within the first quarter of this year following talk parliamentary procedures surrounding the bill had been done.

The bill when passed among others will to improve the quality of the legal regime for corporate bodies and their administration when they become insolvent as well as push Ghana up in the ease of doing business ranking.

The bill will also protect the interest of all stake holders who have been affected by the activities of a company deemed insolvent.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia meanwhile has added his voice to calls to have the Insolvency Bill and the Companies’ Bill passed noting a new regime is needed to make Ghana a modern business friendly state.
