The Ghana Community Network (GCnet), in partnership with its stakeholders last week Friday undertook a health walk which brought together a total of about 350 participants to participate in the exercise which started from Ayi Mensah through Peduase Lodge enroute to the Aburi Gardens to commemorate the Africa Union (AU) Day.
Speaking to the media at the event, Deputy General Manager of GCNet, Emmanuel Donkor, said the exercise was to relief stress after hard day’s work in the office.
“Although, we already have our stakeholder engagement forum, like in every quarter we go to all the key stations in the various regions, this forms part of the company’s stakeholder forum, all be it not in a formal setting but an informal setting,” he stated.
He said the company had deployed the Total Revenue Processes System (TRPS) in line with the Domestic Tax Revenue Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, GRA, across the country to mobilise revenue.
Donkor was optimistic of an increase in 2018 revenue through the TRPS, on the basis that the GRA has embarked on an aggressive sensitization, education and a registration drive.
At the event, the Human Resource Manager of GCNet, Akosua Konadu Asamoah said the exercise gives management the opportunity to interact with stakeholders and focus on the way forward for the various organisations.
This, she said, was critical because all the stakeholders had one focus of trade facilitation and in turn generate the needed revenue for the development of the country.
In 2016 Ghana through TRPS generated over GHS 11.4 billion which further increased to GHS 11.5 billion in 2017.
Present at the walk were the some GRA staff and those of freight forwarding agencies, among others.
