An innovative computer application software and a walk-in food service provider, christened ‘Homechow’, has been launched in a bid to connect prospective customers and vendors to quality and affordable meals.
The application, which was unveiled in Accra, seeks to speed up food delivery services to consumers.
Patrons and users of the application also have the option to pick up their orders at any Homechow depot in Accra. The Homechow IOS application allows users to place orders for food and have it delivered to them as affordable prices.
Founder and CEO of Homechow, Gabriel Ankamafio, said the brand provides services and offers access to decent meals.
“We want to make it easier, the middle class is growing and people want to sit behind their computers to eat so that is the vacuum we seek to fill, making it less difficult to obtain food from Homchow vendors within a tap of the app. But as beginners, we are entertaining a great deal of walk-ins for orders,” he said.
The company is expected to leverage on its over 370 registered courier riders to reach customers beyond Accra.
“We were hoping to get a 100 riders a year but as we speak, the number has escalated to over 370 already registered and this are not riders coming through the app. We did a lot of guerilla campaign and that was the result” he said.
Ankamafio noted that Homechow, within a year, seeks to open delivery facilities in other suburbs of the capital, adding, “We’ll be piloting at Osu, Dansoman, Teshie and subsequently rolling out from those areas to other environs in Accra.”
The brand, he said, would venture into providing indigenous dishes to the public in the very near future.
The app’s menu features a variety of local and continental dishes, for lunch and supper, each priced between GHS5 and GHS10.
Payment for both customers and vendors to the company, is handled within the app. It supports the various mobile money options in the country and the user can choose to pay cash upon delivery of the food.
