President Akufo-Addo has indicated that the 2019 budget would “reflect the hope Ghanaians have in the government and the future of the country.”
The finance minister, Ken Ofori Atta, will deliver the 2019 budget and policy statement of the government on November 15, the Speaker of Parliament Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye recently announced.
With major job loses across various sectors including media, industrial, banking, and mining as well as the services sector, the Centre for Socioeconomic Studies (CSS) has estimated one million Ghanaians lost their jobs since 2017.
At a short ceremony at the Jubilee House in Accra, President Akufo-Addo acknowledged that even though some gains have been made, there was still more to be done adding, “the ministers must work together to deliver on the things that this administration had promised Ghanaians.
