The maiden edition of the Livestock, Poultry and Fisheries tradeshow (LiPF 2019), was yesterday opened in Accra.
The three-day event is an initiative of Agrihouse Foundation, Agrihouse Communications and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA). It is sponsored by Assist in the Management of Poultry and Layer Industries with Feed Improvements and Efficiency Strategies (AMPLIFIES Ghana) and Ghana Poultry Project (GPP).
The objective is to drive and foster growth in the livestock production sub-sector in the country.
The LiPF initiative will showcase and promote the country’s livestock, poultry and fisheries production value chain and job opportunities through exhibitions and training programmes.
This supports the Ministry of Agriculture’s effort to promote and showcase the animal value chain production, explore and create opportunities, attract investors to the sector, and link businesses and markets.
Speaking at the opening of the event, the Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa said, “the Livestock, Poultry and Fisheries (LiPF 2019) tradeshow is a step in the right direction to achieve the purpose of Government’s campaign for both job creation and food stability.”
“It is also in line with the “Rearing for Food and Jobs” program that seeks to develop a competitive and more efficient livestock industry that increases domestic production, reduces importation of livestock products and contributes to employment generation and to the improvement of livelihoods of livestock value chain actors,” she added.
The Livestock, Poultry and Fisheries (LiPF) tradeshow is an event we have put together to create that missing platform where livestock, poultry and fisheries farmers can share experiences and have their common concerns addressed.
Exhibitors numbering about 50 are going to have a lot to showcase and offer to both farmers and agribusiness entrepreneurs.
The tradeshow will include exhibitions and free training sessions from various international and national experts in the animal production field.
