The first batch of IT professionals, numbering a total of 21, have successfully graduated from the Huawei ICT training center.
The training is aimed at developing a pool of high-level ICT professionals for the country, through an ICT Talent Ecosystem Programme, as well as giving the industry an opportunity to enhance ICT skills professionals to meet increasing domestic and global demand.
The first training programme ran from December 3rd to 19th, 2018, with the 21 trainees drawn from Huawei’s local partners in Ghana including MTN Ghana, Vodafone Ghana, AirtelTigo Ghana, IPMC and National Identification Authority (NIA). These trainees were taken through an IP (Internet Protocol) HCNP (Huawei Certified Network Professional) Certification course which has made them become certified Huawei IP HCNP professionals.
At the graduation ceremony in Accra on Wednesday, the Deputy Managing Director [Solutions] of Huawei Ghana, Mr. October Qiu said, aside from the HCNP programme, Huawei will next year organize programmes including an IP Competition and IP Club for tertiary students to promote a greater understanding of and interest in ICT while providing career defining opportunities to the students and professionals alike.
Huawei will further carry out several ICT certification programs including the Huawei ICT Academy for university students and industry practitioners, providing industry recognized certification HCNA, HCNP, HCIE, across extensive ICT technologies.
