The Africa Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Summit has ended with a call on participants in the marketing sector to develop and implement sustainable measures to enhance their businesses and engage more meaningfully with shareholders.
According to Makafui Ayimey, Co-Founder of the summit and a Digital Marketing Professional, Ghana’s marketing eco-system is facing an era of technological advancement that calls for dialogue, thought- leadership and practical sessions to drive business growth.
The two-day event, held from October 4-5, at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Accra featured over 20 Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers and CMOs as speakers and leaders in the marketing eco-system. They delivered quality content sessions and practical insights that participants can implement immediately for sustainable results in the marketing industry.
Makafui Ayimey said the summit was also to offer participants a platform to discuss trends and issues affecting the ability of marketers to deliver business results.
‘’We have had a gathering of people within the marketing and financial eco-system to establish some common grounds that marketing and finance officers especially can work together,’’ he said.
He further noted that “technology has become rapid and changes almost every single day, makes consumers more demanding, adding marketing accountability has become contentious in the midst of budget cuts and pressure to prove the effectiveness of marketing projects.”
Ayimey urged marketers to be part of the business building process to make the expansion and growth of brands and its clients an efficient one.
