e.TV Ghana in partnership with Japan Motors has launched the 8th edition of the Corporate Run and Walk event.
The event, which is scheduled to take place on Founders Day, September 21, at the Silver Star Tower is aimed at bringing together corporate institutions in Ghana to promote health and networking through team-building and physical activities on Founders’ Day.
Mr. Ernest Boateng, Chief Executive Officer for Global Media Alliance Group, speaking at the launch in Accra, said the five kilometer run is to provide a better platform for corporate institutions and their staff to interact and socialize while engaging in healthy activities.
“Due to the demanding nature of most jobs, it often gets difficult for people to make time to exercise. This is the 8th year of organizing this event and we at e.TV Ghana and Japan Motors will want to entreat all corporate institutions to sign up and be part of this great initiative,” Mr. Boateng stated.
He added that proceeds of GHS5 from each registration, in addition to a percentage of proceeds from the event will be set aside and donated to the Ghana Blind Union by way of support to the union.
Mr. Salah Kwaku Kalmoni, Event Director of Corporate Run and Walk, explained that the 5 km race will start at 6:00 am from the Silver Star Tower to 37 Station, continuing to the El-Wak traffic light, and then left to the Airport roundabout, to the Airport Traffic Lights and finish at the Silver Star Tower.
Participants of the race will be embroidered with 2 ribbons and one wrist band to clarify their qualification and finish.
