On Saturday, September 1, 2018, the Accra International Arts Centre, AICC, will host three unique events: ‘A Time with Authors’ which begins at ‘The Spoken Word’ which comprises the spoken word, comedy and acoustic music from 2pm to 4pm.
The second event, which begins at 4.30pm to end at 6.30pm is titled ‘Literary Legends Evening: A Moment of Remembrances and Reminiscences’ in memory of two of Ghana’s literary giants recently departed – Professor Atukwei Okai and Professor Kofi Awoonor.
According to the organisers, Ghana Book Publishers Association and being facilitated by Ghana Reads, the two events are being held as part of activities marking the ongoing 16th International Book Fair at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Activities for the two professors will also witness a musical performance by Nene Narh described as an African soul musician, singer and songwriter.
Also performing on the same bill in the evening will be the Noyam Dance Institute, Oswald Okaitey, Kom, Play House, Seyram, Achievers Ghana, Michael Somuah and Nene Narh among many others.
The first event which begins from 10.30 and ends at 12.00 which is also being organized by the same organisations will feature Dr. Mawuli Adjei, a lecturer, poet and writer, who will read some of his poems and excerpts from some of his published books.
