…assures seamless service delivery
Domestic Airline, Passion Air will commence the Accra-Takoradi-Accra route on Monday, December 10, 2018.
The new route, brings to total three destinations, Accra-Kumasi-Accra, Accra-Tamale-Accra, and the Takoradi routes since the airline begun operations in August this year.
During an inaugural flight to Takoradi on Friday November 30, 2018, Deputy Aviation Minister, Kwabena Otchere Darko-Mensah, addressing dignitaries at a brief ceremony at Takoradi Airport, said the move will give a boost to the economic activities in the region.
“As we know, Takoradi is the oil city and there is a lot of mining and oil activity here as well, so we are glad we can provide businessmen with the safest means of transport from every part of the world to this place,” he noted.
The Minister hinted that government is considering the construction of a new airport in Takoradi to further complement the existing airport.
Commercial Manager for Passion Air, Anita Khouryfor, said the strategic decision to commence services to the region was in response to a growing demand by passengers.
Patrons of domestic flights from Accra to Takoradi and vice versa, now have an alternative service, as the route, had until now, been served by only Africa World Airlines.
The move is expected to increase competition on the route, which could reflect in prices.
The airline will fly twice weekly except Sundays.
