Accra Hearts of Oak has secured a kit sponsorship deal with apparel maker Umbro.
Umbro’s official twitter account had the news: “Tree-mendous: we’re delighted to announce a new partnership with Accra Hearts of Oak, one of Ghana’s leading teams.”
The deal which runs for three years will see Umbro provide kits, training gear, off-field apparel, footwear and luggage for the playing body.
The technical team will also get branded gear while the fans can have access to Hearts of Oak gear to purchase.
The deal made public on Monday will also see Umbro act as Heart’s exclusive global technical partner.
“As part of the partnership, Umbro will be the exclusive global technical partner of the Club, supplying the Hearts playing squad with best-in-class authentic competition wear, training apparel and equipment, off field apparel, footwear and luggage. Umbro will also supply the technical and management staff with Hearts’ branded apparel. Hearts of Oak products will also be available for fans to purchase,” the statement read.
For Hearts new Chief Executive; Mark Noonan it is an impressive feat given the Phobians have had challenges with their kit wear.
“We are thrilled to welcome Umbro into our family. A brand with a rich history and authenticity, premium product quality, cutting edge designs and love for the beautiful game makes them the perfect fit for our highest ambitions. I urge Phobians everywhere to embrace and give their full support to this partnership,” he submitted.
The Phobians recently turned 107. Umbro on its part was founded in the outskirts of Manchester in 1924 and has remained a strong brand through the years.
Although figures are being closely guarded Goldstreet understands the deal is the biggest commercial deal in the club’s history.
The African champions join Everton, Huddersfield Town, Werder Bremen and FC Nürnberg who are kitted by the English sportswear and football equipment supplier.
