…signs agreement with Eurofinsa
The Universal Wonderful Street Academy (UWSA), a Jamestown, Accra-based non-governmental organization last week held a career day for the over 100 children in the academy who exhibited the various professions and their prospective future career ambitions, including nursing, journalism, architecture among others.
Eurofinsa Ghana, a Spanish business group specialized in the development of public works for institutions, also used the occasion to sign a one year contract to provide free potable water to children of the academy.
Speaking to the Goldstreet Business, Mr. Louis Yeboah Womder-Doe said the gesture and the agreement between the two organizations will go a long way to help the academic development of the children.
“For many years, UWSA have been providing water to the children and indigenes of the Otublohum area and it is refreshing that Eurofinsa has come to provide free potable water for us for a year,” he explained.
The UWSA, Mr. Womder-Doe said, provides free tuition to children from age six to 17 in basic arithmetic, English, social studies, arts and craft making, traditional drumming and dancing to underprivileged children in the area.
He commended Eurofinsa Company and assured them that the children will justify the confidence reposed in them through the gesture.
The Country Manager for Eurofinsa in Ghana, Joaquin Roura, said his company is happy to enter into such agreement with the UWSA.
He explained that his company has been monitoring what Womder-Doe and UWSA has been doing in the area.
“We are only supporting with water for a year and we hope to do more in the years to come. What Womder-Doe is doing in this area, contributing to the educational development of the children must be greatly applauded,” Mr. Roura said.
He asked philanthropists in Ghana to empower the academy through supports in order to enable the academy to help more children.
