Ghana’s leading telecommunication company; MTN says its seen growth following the deployment of its 4G plus technology noting it is committed to protecting customer data and financial details of clients.
The telco holds that its 4G plus technology is 20 times faster than 3G and 5 times faster than 4G helping customers and subscribers of MTN surf and browse at faster speeds.
MTN Ghana CEO ; Selorm Adadevoh made the disclosure at an editor’s forum declaring 2019 as the year of the customer for which over US$160million is being injected into the business to tap into available opportunities while enhancing access to clients and making the user experience simpler.
It emerged data subscription on the network has hit the 1.5 million mark with mobile money customers reaching 13.6 million while registering over 13 million voice subscribers in 2018.
The Media and Stakeholders Forum at the MTN Headquarters in Accra on April 8, 2019 also had Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Telecommunications Chamber, Ken Ashigbey calling for strict sanctions for those responsible for fibre optic cuts.

On the Mobile Money platform, Mr. Eli Hini, Head of Mobile Financial Services, pointed out that the mobile money journey started with 9 banks however the number has swelled to 17 banks with others queuing to join.
He said that MTN has gone into partnership with Western Union to facilitate remittances such that transactions in small amounts of up to GHc5.00 will not attract any fees.
