A youth group calling itself Ghana Ambassadors for Standard Justice (GASJU) has accused Ghana’s President Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr. Alhaji Bawumia of still being in the electioneering mode given the programmes being executed.
President of the Group Akapae Michael Adombila told Goldstreetbusiness: “This government is implementing policies that are geared towards gaining votes. Their target is the voting group. Examples being the reinstatement of the teacher trainees nursing training allowances.”
GASJU further submitted given that the country was a middle income one, there’s no need to be heavily dependent on funding from donors who have their ulterior motives.
“Today, it is not about figures, it is what you feel in your pocket. We were thinking that more jobs will be created. It is not a matter of engaging a group of people to offer them something, and then after they have voted for you for the second term you say the nation doesn’t need your service anymore so go home. Driving the unemployment situation up”, Mr. Adombila stated adding “We were even thinking that Dr. Bawumia with the NPP will come to save the North by continuing SADA policy introduced by former President Mahama but he has completely failed.”
