Some infuriated youth of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Sefwi Bibiani in the Western North Region (WNR) are ready to battle fellow party man Mr. Ben Ali Seaman for accusing the Regional Minister, Hon. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu falsely.
The group which calls itself ‘Friends of Aboagye Gyedu’ saw secretary Isaac Nkrumah in an interview with Goldstreet Business noting, “Mr. Ben Ali has no credibility in levelling accusations against the Western North Regional minister.”
The group noted Seaman had paraded false allegations against the regional minister which are circulating on social media including claims the minister was giving out contracts to certain individuals and companies to embark on projects in the newly created WNR without following protocol as well as the regional minister describing the people of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency in unsavoury terms. Another charge against Hon. Aboagye Gyedu is that he is unable to pull crowd for the party.
The youth have however refuted all claims against the region’s leader submitting “all these mischievous accusations are groundless and untrue. No contract has been given out in the region. It is not in the power and purview of the minister to award contracts.”
‘Friends of Aboagye Gyedu’ group hold that the minister having won two elections in opposition in 2012 and 2016 in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency show he is in touch with his people and remains a formidable force for the party.
The group also claim despite Seaman campaigning for “skirt and blouse” against the minister in the 2012 and 2016 elections he still won.
“We will make you face the law courts if you illiterate dare talk against our honourable minister, the face of Western North Region again,” they further submitted.
