He submitted more train stations are needed to serve the people to enable persons on the Accra-Tema stretch like Dzowulu be able to join the shuttle.
The lawyer cum politician further submitted GHc15million was injected to enable rehabilitation works on the Accra-Tema stretch to be undertaken by engineers at the Ghana Railway Company Limited.
The Ghana Railway Company Limited began a test run of the Accra-Tema shuttle service which was suspended October last year on January 22, 2019 after scheduled test in December, 2018 were postponed because of encroachers and activities of squatters along the tracks.
The 24-kilometre rail-line was suspended after an accident on the Tesano side in October, 2018.
The train normally leaves Tema at 6:30 am through Asaprochona in Sakumono, then to Baatsona, Shangrila, Dzowulu, Achimota, Odo at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, then to Kantamanto in Accra serving some 700 passengers.
The line handlers say an insurance cover for all passengers who patronise the trains is in place assuring mechanisms are in place to ensure maximum passenger safety and comfort.
