About 300 staff and stakeholders participated in this year’s edition of the Ghana Community Network (GCNet) health walk from Ayi Mensah to the Aburi Botanical Gardens.
The programme was to provide opportunity for staff of the company and its stakeholders to exercise to promote good health and sound mind.
Head of Corporate Communications at GCNet Mrs Aba Lokko, said the health walk was aimed to encourage staff and stakeholders to adopt healthy lifestyles.
“The exercise was to enable the company to know its stakeholders better, and also to fulfil the Sustainable Development Goal-Three; being good health and wellbeing of the people. Sound mind in a sound body works better and it has been proven that when people exercise, their minds gets refreshed in readiness to work better,” Mrs Lokko said.
According to Mrs. Lokko, the exercise was also an opportunity to explain the operations of GCNet to the public and its contribution to economic growth.
“GCNet is playing a critical role for revenue generation in the country. The company is currently providing the platform and infrastructure for the collection of about 95 percent of domestic revenue” she added.
The participants ended at the Aburi gardens with some aerobic sessions.
