The Global Public Excellence has conferred on Mr. S.K. Boafo, Board Chairman of the Minerals Commission, the ‘Gold Star Order of Leadership Excellence’ in Service to Humanity at a brief ceremony held in Accra.
Presenting the Award, Ambassador Dr. Kwame O. Fordjour of Global Public Excellence (GPE), an initiative of Ghanaian former United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, Mr. Kofi Anan, noted that, Mr. S. K. Boafo’s has put Ghana on the global map as the 10th globally recognized achiever of this honour, the 3rd African and 1st Ghanaian rated between 2000-2020.
Ambassador Fordjour explained that the decision by GPE to confer this honour on Mr. S.K. Boafo, has to do with his distinctive successes chalked in contributing to national development and that of the global community especially during his Chairman role of the Inter Racial Community Project in Hackney, London.
Part of the citation in respect of the award read; “on this historical day, we honour Mr. S.K. Boafo in fulfillment of your service to humanity, global peace and prosperity to mankind”.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. S.K. Boafo was full of gratitude Global Public Excellence organization for the recognition and the award. He admitted that, he has not ever head of the GPE and their work until few days ago when he was approached by the executives of the organization to announce the award.
He on this note called on all Ghanaians to endeavour to live above reproach and deliver dedicated service to humanity where ever they get the opportunity.
Present at the Award ceremony was the Chief of Gomoa Odumase, Nana Akomanyi Essandoh V and Chairman of (SDGs) Innovation, Africa who read the profile of Mr. S.K. Boafo. Others present were Mrs. Judy Crayam, Board Member of the Commission and the CEO of the Minerals Commission, Addae Antwi-Boasiako, his two Deputies and officials of the Minerals Commission.
