The Institute of Directors-Ghana (IoD-Gh) last Thursday presented a cheque of GHS 33,000.00 to the COVID-19 Trust fund.
According to the Institute, the presentation forms part of nine initiatives announced last month to be rolled out in support of Government’s effort to fight the Coronavirus pandemic.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Trust, her ladyship Justice Sophia Akuffo, former Chief Justice and head of the Trust, thanked the Institute and by extension, all donors, for the kind gesture.
She assured all that “indeed, the battle will be won”, which was in reaction to a statement made by the Chief Executive of the Institute, Mr. Frederick Emmanuel Aryeetey that “it is our hope the battle against COVID-19 will be won”.
The former Chief Justice further reassured all to keep faith as the county battles to eliminate the virus.
“Sometimes when you are in the middle, you cannot see the end but every effort is towards it”, she stressed.
Mr. Emmanuel Aryeetey, and Mrs. Comfort Oduro-Nyarko, Council Member of the Institute presented the donation on behalf of IoD Ghana.
On his part, the President of the Institute, Mr. Rockson K. Dogbegah commended government and all stakeholders in their efforts to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic especially, front line health workers.
“It is our hope that we will overcome the effects of this deadly disease soon. The pandemic has, however, presented an opportunity for us to develop a national policy for innovation and creativity which must be anchored on ethical and effective leadership.
“It has also presented us an opportunity to review our way of life, examine our processes and systems as a nation with the aim of developing a more resilient approach towards value creation”, Mr. Dogbegah said.
