Ghana’s leading telecommunications company, MTN Ghana, has launched a new book titled, “Telephone Conversations”.
The launching of the book makes MTN the first ever outfit in the telecommunications industry to publish a book.
The 300-page book chronicles the story of MTN over time and features valuable insights on business, finance, industry among other fields.
The launch witnessed high profile personalities including business owners and associates, heads and representatives of other corporate bodies as well as representatives from government.
In his address, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MTN, Selorm Adadevor stated that the launch “reinforces our vision, ambition and desire to change and impact the communities in which we operate not just by providing connectivity, but also by solving real problems such as providing jobs, giving to the poor, saving lives and supporting education.”
The book, he indicated, captures the thoughts, works and impressions as well as the voices of the many people who have interacted closely with the MTN brand and the telecommunications industry.
He assured that MTN would continue to play a significant role in the development of Ghana across various sectors of the economy, saying they are part of Ghana’s future.
Dr. Ishmael Yankson, Board Chairman of MTN, stated that the company has led the transformation agenda of the industry in Ghana and urged government as well as the general public to support MTN because “MTN will not only make itself greater, but will make Ghana a great country.
Author of the book, Ivor Agyemang-Duah also hinted that the book does not only focus on MTN’s journey over the last 20 years, but goes as far back as about 50 years to the history of telecommunications in Ghana.
He also mentioned the need for people to be principled, supportive of each other’s goals and the need to grow businesses as key lessons in the book.
Special autographed copies of the book were given out to some long serving staff, customers, media partners and government officials.
It would be made available in some selected bookshops in the country and in other countries.
The E-book will also be available on Amazon.
