Republic Bank Ghana PLC commissioned a fully functional and ultra-modern computer laboratory at the A.M.E Zion School at Berase in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Municipality in the Central Region. This follows the construction of a new six-classroom with a fully-stocked library which was handed over to the Chiefs and the people of Berase last year.

Speaking at the brief ceremony held at Berase, the Managing Director of Republic Bank, Mr. Farid Antar, who is also a Development Chief of the area, noted that an important part of Republic Bank’s Power to Make a Difference Program is the building of successful communities. The Bank has also pledged to support the Sustainable Development Goals on Quality Education (SDG 4). Towards this end, staff of the Cape Coast Branch of the Bank have committed to donating GHS200.00 per month for one year (1) to the school to assist in meeting their water bill and other minor expenses.
Items were also presented to the School by Friends-from-Trinidad & Tobago in support of Mr. Antar in his role as a Development Chief.
Receiving the items on behalf of the School, the Abakoma Hene of Abirem Traditional Council, Nana Abakoma Hene thanked the Managing Director and the Bank for their kind gesture. He assured the Managing Director and his team that the facility would be put to good use and serve its purpose of being a center of academic excellence for Berase and its surrounding communities.
