To acknowledge and appreciate the important role the agribusiness sector plays in promoting wealth and prosperity in Ghana, the Chamber of Agribusiness, Ghana (CAG) will host the Agribusiness Excellency and Leadership Award 2018.
This year’s theme of the award is dubbed; “Publicly Recognising Efforts and Contribution of Distinguished and Deserving Agribusinesses”. The event will take place at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Accra on the December 21, 2018.
The Award will be in honor of the efforts and contribution of distinguished and deserving agribusinesses in the country.
Agriculture and Agribusinesses play a crucial role in the economy of Ghana. It is estimated that the sector, excluding government,provides more than 90 percent of the workforce of the continent and contributes significantly to the GDP of its economy.
Chief Executive officer (CEO) of the Chamber, Mr. Anthony Morrison, who won the 2018 Global Agriculture Leadership Awards, awarded him by the Indian Food and Agriculture Council for his leadership and advocacy on food security said, “we aim to build a thriving and booming agribusiness value chain sector entrepreneurship, robust investment, poverty alleviation, food and nutrition security, jobs and wealth creation and contributing to Ghana’s economic development and middle income status.”
The Awards is expected to bring together governments officials, development institutions, investors, academics and private sector institutions with interest in the agriculture and agribusiness sector.
