The Tax Unit of KPMG has refurbished and handed over a 25 pupil capacity library to the Abelenkpe ‘2’ Basic School in Accra on Tuesday.
Speaking on behalf of Emmanuel Asiedu, Head of Tax at KPMG, at the handing-over ceremony Kofi Frempong-Kore indicated that the library should be able to encourage learning amongst the pupils in the school.
“This library will encourage learning and since knowledge is a means and not an end, I hope this library will become an encouragement and an inspiration to all of you,” he said.
One of KPMG’s key values is to support its communities, Asiedu stated, “so in refurbishing this library, the Tax Unit in KPMG has not just uplifted the Abelenkpe 2 Basic and JHS School, but has lived up to our corporate social responsibility and also shown good neighborliness.”
To date, the Unit has committed about GHc 49,000 on various corporate social responsibilities to the school.
