The World Youth Opportunity an NGO, and the Alajo ‘1’ Basic School 1994 year group has donated an ICT laboratory to the school.
The donation was part of plans to encourage pupils of the school to study and be abreast with knowledge in information communication technology (ICT).
Founder of World Youth Opportunity (WYO), Mr. Nafis Quaye, said the donation was meant to expose the pupils to the changing trends of society and to offer them an added advantage in the world of work.
He said the WYO and the Alajo ‘1’ Basic School Old Students will continue to intervene in the affairs of the school in order to bring it at par with other international basic schools.
“To this end, we are considering and working out the possibility of donating a modern school bus to the school in the coming months,” he said.
The Accra Metro Director of Education, Mrs. Margaret Frimpong Kore, noted that the laboratory and its facility would enable them pupils to give their best as the facility has been lacking in the school for a long time.
“We cannot ignore the benefits of ICT to the current generation and how it is contributing to making the world a better place,” she said.
Madam Genevive Adjei, Headmistress of the School, expressed appreciation to the donors and said the facility would be used for its intended purpose to benefit the school.
