Five vehicles have been involved in a road incident at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region. Together with the Kintampo, Nsutem and Ekumfi motor vehicle collision, about 90 lives perished over the weekend.
Although the Ejisu incident didn’t claim any life, the five vehicles involved in the accident were damaged extensively.
“So far five vehicles were involved in the accident, no serious injuries, no one died,” Ejisu MTTD Divisional Commander; DSP George Owusu Aboagye submitted.
DSP Aboagye further held that reports suggest a heavily loaded Burkina- Faso long vehicle with the registration number (DAF) 11JL8442, from Accra headed towards Kumasi fell on a private salon car with registration number GW 508-13 on Sunday between 6: 30PM and 7:00PM after it (private car) failed to negotiate the Ejisu Roundabout.
The MTTU commander also mentioned; “two persons onboard the salon car saw the trailer’s descent and therefore quickly moved out of the car.”
According to the commander, another trailer which was loaded from Accra decided to swerve the scene of the accident but it landed on the dugout trenches on the road at around 11pm that same day and blocked the road for Ejisu-Effiduase long period.
Curiously, the vehicle which came to offload the aforementioned long vehicles also landed on the trenches after it took off. The development caused prolonged traffic at the Ejisu Roundabout.
