Stanbic Bank on Wednesday assembled a consortium of Chinese Investors to leverage on various business opportunities in the country capable of assisting the private sector to create jobs for the youth.
This falls in line in the effort at enhancing Sino-Ghana business relations through partnership with Stanbic Bank. The initiative is aimed at identifying key sectors with enormous untapped opportunities and driving investment into such areas.
The platform used was a business forum held in Accra in partnership with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) that also brought together key development stakeholders such as representatives from the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone (NSEZ), showcasing key sectors – mining, agriculture among others – in an attempt to lure a greater proportion of Chinese investors to take up opportunities in such sectors to drive the needed investments.
Speaking with the Goldstreet Business during the event, Executive Head of Client Coverage, Stanbic Bank, Ms. Sylvia Inkoom said that the Bank realized that it was a good time to show their Chinese clients the vast business opportunities in the country.
“We are following the global conversation between China and the US and between China and the West. We have seen an interest from the Chinese government of re-engaging Africa in a more strategic way because Africa has a lot to offer”, she reiterated.
